The ‘journey pieces’ in THE GRACE OF GOD reveal the struggles of attempting to soar without adjusting the mind-set and without unpacking and discarding the excess baggage that keeps us grounded. – Velma J Perry
Christians should be the most fearless individuals there are when it comes to trials of life. Why are so many of us so grief stricken and Prozac ready? Have the storms of life truly clouded our vision or is it that our faith faded when we saw the approaching storm?
We can spiritually soar as eagles when the storms of life appear. The force of the storms would not whirl us left and right if we would allow God’s Strength to surround us in the midst of it all.
If we would adjust our mindset as the eagle adjusts its wings in a storm enabling itself to be lifted on the strength of the wind which takes it above the storm, we would learn the peace of a raging storm as we soar above it for it is not the burdens of life that shatter us; it is how we have positioned our minds.
WHAT IS KEEPING YOU GROUNDED?
Fear, Unforgiveness, Lack of Faith, Wisdom, Procrasination….?
UNPACK IT- DISCARD IT!!!!!!
GOD’S GRACE IS SUFFICIENT
FOR YOU TO
SOAR!
Starving for His Wisdom
Looking over the day as I prayed for your Wisdom;
I found I could not hear your voice.
Was it that I am not spiritual enough?
Was it that you spoke and I couldn’t understand?
Was it that I didn’t pray long enough or
the correct prayer?
Or was it that you didn’t …speak at all?
I starvingly listened for your directional hand
as my feet appeared to have their own directional path…
As I wrestled with the day’s trials of traffic;
they pushed the pedal to my desired destination,
As I met with hurried distress;
they stumbled but did not fall,
As I searched for needed financial expense;
they strutted me by free as the wind.
And as I negatively reminisced over the day’s events;
A voice quietly adjusted my mind to the positive …
“It was You who guided my feet.”

Whispers From The Window
……..Hush… let Him Speak,
He is the Beginning, He is the End of all things…
Hush.
Open the Windows of your Heart
and hear His Whispers to you…Hush…Listen…
He is the “Whispers from the Window”
that opens all you dare to dream (continue on page 63)
A Man Called Father
….a cry from his soul is heard, not clearly, not long, not truly
thought through…again and again, his soul is heard, but clarity fades away.
His eye contact shifty, his conversations limited
but his happiness apparent it was as it surrounded his voice with
introductions of us to others …his blessings.
Emptied his freezer, Fruits, vegetables filed his box,
hesitation appeared not once.
No emotion displayed as the car was packed
with the best of his offerings…
A worn aged face with eyes of red fire,… (continue on page 22)
